thats right! as of midnight halloween night it is officially christmas season (for me at least). that means my ipod is loaded with mannheim steamroller and trans-siberian orchestra. that is all i will listen to until dec 26, when, as you know, all christmas music must stop! anyway, i havent updated in so long, i need to go back to last season, halloween...
HALLOWEEN WEEKEND IN SPOKANE
i made it out to spokane last weekend to visit mallory for halloween weekend. it was so much fun! mallory is a part of a group at gonzaga called campus kids where students mentor kids with unfortunate living circumstances. on saturday they had a party and took their kids around trick-or-treating to all the dorms on campus. so i got to dress up as a pirate and mallory was a fallen angel and we did that. it was nice. i havent been trick-or-treating in a long time, and even if i was just a supervisor this time, it was still fun. i miss being a kid sometimes. sunday we went to a movie and went out to dinner at a really fun italian place. then i flew back monday in time for my one lecture. what a great weekend. it was exactly what i needed after some stressful time catching up with classes and being busy with band and stuff. it also let me clear my head before a stressful week...
MIDTERMS = DONE
know the best part about only taking two classes? only two midterms :) in classes i have taken in the past midterms start in like the 3rd week and keep going right until finals because each class has multiple midterms. not this quarter though! but the week was a little hectic though because i had one on tuesday and one on thursday. i think they both went ok. i had a study group for my polisci class that really helped. i should be getting my grades back for them in the next few days, so we will see how that gos. i feel good about my performance on them though.
THIS WEEKEND
mallory was in seattle this weekend! so she got to go to the rally on friday and the game on saturday. the game was of course disappointing. it was pouring down rain which made me very very cold. i think i have poor circulation, because my fingers get way colder than anyone else's. holding a big freezing metal baritone probably doesnt help either. i really liked our halftime show this week, so it was kinda sad the the rain made a lot of people seek cover at halftime. we had to stay in our rain gear, which made the dancing part a little less cool than it should have been. mallory stuck around for the fifth quarter and walked back with me in the pouring rain. it was actually kinda fun. we warmed up in the apartment and played poker with everyone that night. another fun weekend :)
BASKETBALL!!!!
winning is so fun. went to the men's exhibition game against a canadian college last night. got good seats in the dawg pack, but should get used to it being that easy. it was really cool to see the new team play though. it was very encouraging. we won 114-48. dan, scott, and i looked at the schedule and started planning which games we were going to camp out for and all that. im way excited!! im doing basketball band too, so either way i will be at every game, or at least as many as i can. after the game we went to mcdonalds and as we were leaving one of the husky's assistant coaches walked in. he is one of the new ones, i forget his name. we told him good game and then he stopped us and started asking us what we thought about certain players and really wanted to know our opinions. we talked to him for a few minutes. it was cool. we were all really optimistic for this season, even though we arent ranked . . . yet!
so i go to arizona this weekend with the pep band for the football game. hopefully we will win. it will be fun either way. now that midterms are done its time to get going on term papers and i register for classes for next quarter on thursday i think. im debating about whether or not to add philosophy as a double major. i really want to. any thoughts? have also been trying to get something going with students for choice. tabled today and we have a meeting on wednesday. last week's meeting was really cool. so hopefully that will be good. alright, all for now. have a good week all. go daWgs!
